Beneath a Steel Sky (or BASS for short) is a 1994 point and click adventure game developed by Revolution Software and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment.
BASS was first released for MS-DOS, Amiga and Amiga CD32. Underworld was its working title.
In 2003 the game was made freeware by its creators; the sourcecode was given to the ScummVM team to incorporate BASS’ Virtual Theatre engine into ScummVM.
Today, Beneath a Steel Sky is playable under a wide range of operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, MacOS and BeOS; and is available in English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish.
